The Trek Day will be prescheduled and will be an all day item. Hiking to the Summit take part in the Buckskin Games (alot bigger and more events)  then a big BBQ cookout. I am told the view from this area is  really something to see.

The Service Day will also be prescheduled.

One big difference is you will be prescheduled for All action center  and outback Type activities You no longer will be able to just walk up and do it.

Great news but I am highly skeptical of #3 and #13 and personally think #8 is a bad idea.  Working on transportation staff at 2010 I remember reading very strict words about vehicles limited in jamo area, only to see a flood of vehicles.  People had every excuse in the book to get their vehicles on site.  As for #13, I really hope this is true, it's supposed to be abou the scouts.  #8 would seem to be counterproductive as this really will emphisize the power traders and squelch the comraderie and "introduce yourself" atmosphere that more casual trading allows.

#3 They told us even staff would not be permitted to drive in . ANyone working an outback area like Buckskin games will be transported to those sites to work. ALso told us there would be enough staf that  no one would work more than 4 hours a day I wm hoping on that one.Esopecially when the areas would be open 9-9

#13 HAs to do with security and away from the actual action centers etc. and LIABILITY?

#8 Has most to do with outside people coming in just to set up shop.

I am concerned that these are a lot of changes all at once without the benefit of really understanding the impacts.  We seem to be throwing away a lot that was good and great about past Jamborees all at once.  I am especially concerned about the workability of the equipment plan and the associated costs.  Our council tries to make the equipment cost as close to "neutral" as possible.  By this I mean we sell the equipment we buy for use at the Jamboree and we keep certain items from Jamboree to Jamboree. In other words, we get our equipment investment back or we get an extended life so that the per usage cost is very low.  With 11 Jamboree Troops, this is a big impact.

I agree with Jack there is so much changing quickly. I think that you shouldn't limit where visitors can go, let younger boys go watch and see what they can do in the future. I think subcamps were a great idea it builds bonds and lets the boys enjoy being with their friends. They have 12 HOURS to meet other people during the day so don't take that fun away from them.

Troops will be in Villages not sub camps. They no longer will be by regions. You may have troops from PA and Troops from Alaska side by side

The visitors village will have most of the activities that will be over in Jambo Proper but a smaller scale. For instance at Jambo proper the Climbing Rappalling wall will be around 20000 Sq Ft. in the Visitors village it will be like we had at the hill.

Visitor will be able to do all these things in the Visitors village IF they Pay the Day Fee which they are talking 80.00 per person. If you just wish to look and watch like at past Jambos there will be hat 5.00 fee
